Practice

About activities for practicing my English, I can only conclude which the items where I have to read and understand what I am reading and about what is it. By contrast, the listening and vocabulary activities were more complicated to do, it takes me so much longer than other things. Anyway, best results can be achieved if we practice continually. Ambition

Ambition, ambition, a conflicting word to me because, and the following it will be for the reason that should be too long for a one post, well, before (1 or 2 years ago) I was considering me as ambitious person, but this decrease due to a many factors, among which when I started the university and more specific, when I started to study Anthropology. I was seventeen years old when I decided to study Biologic Anthropology at University of Chile (my dream is those times), this together with all difficulties which that engendered.

Over the months I began noticing that the career was not that I expected, to be more specific, in the first semester I only have one subject maybe it was relationated with the area that I wanted. The latter was repeated the next semester, that at the same time that I was starting to feel unmotivated, dismayed, and so sad about having to study subjects that I did not understand. I was going so bad.

Well, the first year passed and one event was happenned, it is only from that moment when almost everything about my life started to going wrong. Months went and began May, due to a number of complications I had to leave Santiago and return to my region, Magallanes. I cannot say that the things improved here, but thanks to support of my family and friends it makes me feel a little happy. 

I decided to study visual arts, the University transfers me to this career, this makes me so happy and hopeful, I try to study and don´t feel unmotivated during all this semester and the next one so that I can transfer to visual arts. My friends of Antrhopology will help me in this case (thank you guys, I love you so much).

Horoscope

Hi everyone! Today I will write to all on the horoscope or more specifically my sign of the zodiac. 

The truth is that I am slightly sceptical to everything religious and mystical, but I prefer, all the same, making myself to believe in certain things only for fun, so if we think that the life is like that as it would be extremely boring. And, naturally, the Horoscope could not be out of the list of the mystical things that I "believe".

First, my star sign is... (drum roll) VIRGO! (*That because I was born on September 7th actually, this means which all Virgo people were born between August 22nd and September 21st).

Virgo is my zodiacal influence, but the most important question before I start with the post. Am I really a "Virgo girl"? Well... Yes, I freely admit which I have read a lot about my zodiac sign and in the majority of times has been right, both in the predictions and in the personality of the sign in general.

Continuing with the post, now I'll talk about the astral chart, I do not know much about it, but I can comment a few of things such as my ascendant, which, according to a web page very complete about this topic, that is, by the way, Virgo! Surprise, surprise! I don't know if I should be afraid about that, or put myself a big red sign saying: "Hey everyone, be kind with this girl, her zodiac sign and ascendant is Virgo!". And now there is the top of everything else, my Moon is in Pisces (only people understand what it means will comprehend me).

Last but not least, I would like to mention three persons or characters that their star sign being Virgo.

A little about Virgo:

Strengths: Loyal, analytical, kind, hardworking, practical.

Veggie food

Hey Martians! How you been? Good I hope.

Today I will talk about FOOD!!! Beautiful and delicious food ha, ha.
First of all I I must to say which I am vegetarian since March of this year. Consequently, I could not say my favourites food, because my food tastes have changed, So I shall proceed as follows, I will make two lists, the first will have three foods which I liked before, and the second list will have three vegetarian foods that I love now. And without further ado, I am going to start with this.

First list (non vegetarian) - Speciesist killer, ha!

1. Chicken Milanese with rice or mixed salad.
2. Lasagne
3. Gnocchi made by my grandmother <3

Second list (vegetarian)

1. Veggie Lasagna
2. Veggie Sushi (with avoccado, cream cheese and any vegetable like red or green pepper)
3. Veggie beans made by my mother <3

Finally, I will mention a few places that I like to go to eat. First, and of course that could not be left out of this post, the Masay Pizza! This is a place to eat -forgive the repetition-, traditional in Puerto Natales, unfortunately, most of the dishes are not veggie, so sad. My favourite dish of Masay Pizza
is the vegetarian sandwich, so delicious!!
Honourable Mentions: Patagonia Dulce, Ñandú, Baguales, Amerindia, all these places are in Puerto Natales <3
Sorry, but I have not favourite places in Santiago, until now.

Something I'd like to learn

Hello, hello little Martians! Today I would like to write about something which I would like to learn. If I am honest, I am the kind of person who have a list with things to learn one day, there are a lot of things, but only for today, I am going to choose three things.

These three things that I would like to learn are: to swim or at least to float (I do not know what I am exactly, because I do not even know to float, I am sinking like Jack of the Titanic, well... ignore that cruel reference) , to drawing human and animal faces, realistic, I hope, and finally, to use Photoshop (only for fun).

Something that I started learning and stopped that I would like to pursue? Well, let me time to think. Oh, I know what it would be, Volleyball.

I started to play (and learn, obviously) Volleyball when I was... Oh no, I did not remember when I started to play Volleyball. Although if I want to finish this post I am going to put me at age for reference, so you get some idea about... Well, I think that you get the point. Let's start again!

I started to play volleyball when I was fifteen or sixteen years old. I fell in love with volleyball, due to two simple reasons, One of those reasons is that the volleyball is a non-contact sport, What I want to say with this? Simply, I was not be forced to have body-to-body contact with players of the opposing team, such as basketball or football. 

I can promise you that I totally hate the body-to-body contact, because I am not an aggressive and rude person, so when I played basketball (before volleyball) I was putting myself very nervous for the body-to-body contact.

First day at University

Hi everyone, today I am going to talk about my first day at University, and without further ado, started with this...
Well, my first day at University... I was feeling so nervous, I was afraid of people in general and not be accepted by people. I woke up so early because I didn't want to fall asleep or arrive late.

I did not accustom to the new hot climate, because I am from Puerto Natales, wherein the maximum temperature was between 24 degrees Celsius. Anyway, I really, really hate hot weather!

I will be honest about how I felt that day, I was feeling so frightened, nervous, anxious, disoriented, well, a lot of emotions that made me a quiet girl, so shy, so withdrawn, anyway, that person that said her name was Javiera was not me.

Well, with regard to the University I noted that the buildings or more specifically, the faculties were so dull. The atmosphere was not boring the earliest days of classes. By the way, after the first few classes I could ensure that the best classes (or that at least knew that I would like) were Biología (Biology) and Historia Latinoamericana (Latin American History).

Finally, I might also add that the first person that I spoke
and later we became friends, her name is Jazmín (love u girl).

Oh! I almost forget that... most of the first half of last year I was feeling so silly! This because the majority of my classmates knew a lot about all subjects, or that was what I feel in this moment. For all that I had been always scared and quiet, I didn't dare to ask doubts, suggesting ideas, among other things. And, to top it all, every time that I finally decide
to talk I feel that anyone heard me. So sad ha,ha.

Alien Evolution

Hey! It’s been a while haha.

Today I’m going to talk about the subject that I really enjoyed studying this semester. And this was Evolution <3 <3 I really, REALLY love this subject; in my opinion was the best subject on the year. The topics that tackled will be essential for my academy formation, because the mention that I want is physical anthropology.

Well, continuing with the theme of this post, I will tell you how were the classes and what I do with it. First, the subject was in charge of two professors, they are called Miriam and Sergio. I would like to say that each class was so interesting and entertaining, I admit it, I was literally waiting the class all week! And, the second idea that I would like everyone to know is which in this course we did two tests, three seminars, a work about cladistics and the rest were group works in general (this includes a dissertation/presentation).

The contents which passed us in the class rounds from the Theory of Evolution (this in relation with Charles Darwin, the creationism, the intelligent design) to hominization (and this in connection with apes, the gender Homo, well, almost all our ancestors). All so engaging.

Why Anthropology? (3rd post)

Hi everybody! Today I'm going to write about why I chose this career. 🙌
First, a summer when a I was seventeen years old my mom created an account on Netflix. Due to this, I started to watch a serie called Bones. Well, as you may know, the lead of Bones is a psysical anthropologist, and, what else can I say?, I really loved this career, and for many reasons, one of these, include the "humanism", in other words, combine the science with some the above mentioned.

Other thing that I want to say is "which was my dream job when I was a child?". 

As we all know, the majority of persons want to be many things in their lifes, and most specially when we are in growth phase. And in connection with the latter, when I was a little girl wished to be a dancer, wizard (yes, I have yet the letter of Hogwarts💘), musician and inclusive go to Wonderland🐰. But also were the other wishes, those that I still remain yet, such as drawer and painter, paleontologist, historian, writer... a lot. 

But what I want more than anything is to work in a hospital morgue. And studying physical anthropology I know that I will be fulfil.

1st Galactic Post

Hello Marcianitos! 👽💫 This is my first Post, I’m so excited, because this is a new experience to me.

Well, start with it. The topic that I would like to incorporate in my Blog is “my favorite book (or top 3 about books that I like) and why” 💘. Continue with the other part, for me, it’s easier the skill of “reading”, because this skill is an activity that I enjoy (and it’s so relaxing 😏). And the skill more difficult for me is “speaking”, because this activity in particular makes me nervous and delete all ideas that my mind contain. And, finally, the use of blogs in this course, in my opinion, it’s an activity so interactive since stimulate the creativity of us.
